Melodie Bowsher was born in Dodge City and grew up in Derby, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University in Manhattan where she majored in journalism and won a first place award for investigative reporting from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. Graduating in three years, she went to work in the Wall Street Journal’s Dallas bureau where at age 20 she was the first woman hired by that newspaper as a staff reporter.
After a brief stint in Denver, Melodie moved to San Francisco where she began working in corporate communications. Two children later she found herself a soccer mom in suburban Millbrae. Her two kids, Mia and Luca, provided the research and the dot.com bust provided the impetus for this, her first novel.

Hey Mel,
Hi! I had dinner with Mike Lowe Saturday and he always tells me the latest and greatest about you, Ron, Susie and Eric. We called Vern and Karen Parker. ..Vern’s retired from the Washington Times and has a syndicated column about antique cars. Check him out at VernParker.com. I am so glad Mike got a condo in KC and is here more often; seeing him is always a highlight.
Loved your book! It really makes me realize there are so many ways to be a better person. Keep up the good work.
